for they will see God. - No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.
- Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting. - Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
- And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’

- For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”May the Lord our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us nor forsake us. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.
